Community Comes Together to Celebrate a Cherished Tradition
During the 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival, ACD (Asian Connect Denver) successfully hosted a warm and vibrant special event in Denver, bringing together new and longtime friends from the community to celebrate this meaningful traditional festival.
Over 200 Friends from Diverse Cultural Backgrounds Joined the Celebration
The event began with a rich and diverse food tasting experience. Special thanks go to Asian-owned restaurants in the community for generously providing a wide variety of dishes, including regional specialties, Japanese cuisine, Chinese and Western pastries, as well as mooncakes and beverages. Guests from around the world not only enjoyed the flavors of Asian cuisine but also learned about the cultural stories behind the food
.
ACD Senior Club Creates Nearly 300 Mooncakes
Led by Mr. Sun and Mr. and Mrs. Yang, the ACD Senior Club successfully completed the making of nearly 300 mooncakes. Participants enjoyed the hands-on experience of preparing and tasting mooncakes, creating heartwarming moments as seniors and children worked side by side, sharing skills, stories, and smiles.
Engaging Handcraft Activities for All Ages
The craft activities were equally joyful and engaging. Older children assisted younger ones, while parents accompanied their kids in creating rabbit lanterns, round fans, small dragon lanterns, and other traditional crafts. Through these interactive experiences, children gained a deeper appreciation for the beauty and creativity of Chinese traditional culture.
A Beautiful Fusion of Eastern and Western Performances
The performances highlighted a harmonious blend of Eastern and Western artistic traditions. Performers presented electric piano, guzheng, and guitar pieces, along with songs in both Chinese and English. The combination of traditional Chinese dance and modern dance brought energy and excitement to the stage, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Generous Support from Community Sponsors
This event was made possible through the generous support of sponsors including Gen Mobile and FirstBank. Gen Mobile provided gifts for attendees and contributed free phones with six months of service as raffle prizes. During the event, a refugee guest from Afghanistan won a phone, offering a meaningful and heartwarming Mid-Autumn Festival gift for their family.
The success of this event would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers and the strong support of our sponsors. Thank you for sharing love, connection, and warmth with the community through ACD, and for bringing to life ACD’s mission:
